Environment Agency

Every year the Environment Agency conducts fish surveys using sonar and electro-fishing techniques, on bio-mass, bio-diversity and scale samples. Luckily I have been party to and indeed helped with some of these fascinating studies and revelations.!

I have learnt this year that a 4lb chub can be up to as much as 14 years old! Imagine an 8lber. Amazing!!

The mayfly season this year has been fantastic from the 20th April til mid October, Thames locusts as I call them as they can be huge! Again indicative of how clean the Thames is and what a phenomal environmental success story it has become.
